Saturday night

Mom, my brother, his wife and I went to dinner last night at Red Lobster and partook of the crabfest menu. We were all SO full. We decided to take a nice drive and go look for deer in the Cuyahoga National Forest. So did everyone else. Roads were so crowded that the deer stayed away. We did, however, see the train that runs thru the forest. We stopped and took so pictures. My brother, a HUGE train buff, was so happy.

My brother and went over to a trestle bridge and her is one shot from the bridge.

Oh yeah, the new job is insanely busy, a challenge, but I am having so much fun. Stitching mojo is coming back. Going to set up the frame tomorrow night. NO clue what I am going to stitch, but I want to stitch again.

Off to the peach orchard to gather some fresh fruit. Enjoy the rest of your weekend.

Update

Mom came home from the hospital a week tomorrow. Only new meds is a pill to help arrhythmia. She is still tired but gaining strength everyday.

My new job is going great! A few more issues than I thought but all have solutions. Time is needed to get things straight.

Absolutely no stitching or photography has been done since before the new job started. Trying to figure out a way to get it all done.

Hope you are having a great week.

Heart

Yesterday evening around 6:30 pm, Mom said that she could not get the indigestion to stop and that she had a numbness in her throat and in her collarbone area. Off to the ER we went. We went in thinking they were going to give her strong antacids, boy, were we wrong! Called the CCU this morning and Mom's enzyme is still going up, but she is in no classic heart attack pain. Seems with women the symptoms can be so vague that women brush it off.

So lady's do not brush off any symptoms that could indicate a heart issue. Just go to the ER and let them decided.

HOT HOT HOT

Oh my, who turned up the heat!?! Been in the 90's for the past week. Shot 2 races during this heat and wind up spending all day Saturday in bed with a 101.9 degree fever for 24 hours. Not the way I envisioned my Holiday weekend. Was back out at the races on Sunday, but could not make it the entire day due to the heat. Did not go out on Monday and now I am glad. There was an unfortunate life ending accident when 3 cars decided to go for the same space and one car hit a concrete barrier. The driver was not wearing a HANS device to protect his head and sadly he passed away. 55 years old and his son was there to witness the event. My heart has been heavy for the past days. May he rest in peace. Prayers to his wife and son.
Sunday, July 4th

To help lift my spirits, I spent some time doing flower photography. Pictures came out great and I made a photo book that should be here by Saturday. I like making these books instead of albums. So nice to take along. So nice to look at during the cold winter days of January.

While I was out there, I noticed the lavender was just right for harvesting. The photo below is from one Provence plant. The fragrance was so heavenly.

The bee was mad that I took his flowers away.

In the laundry room drying.

Enjoy the rest of your week;
Joanne

From the Grand Am - Daytona Prototypes

Going into a long stretch of racing photography. 9 straight weeks, traveling from Nelson Ledges, to Mid Ohio to Schenley Park in Pittsburgh. Alot of miles on the car, the camera and me. Add starting a new job on July 12th and my life is a tad busy right now. No stitching has been done and I do not see a time in the near future when I can sit and stitch. Right now I am 2 races behind on getting the photos on Zenfolio and this weekend's race is the Vintage event at Mid Ohio, so I know I will go crazy goofy with snapping photos. Some of these cars are rare and just a few models still exist. Why they chance it and put them on the track is beyond my realm of thinking.

The bunny destroyed the bean patch so it is now replanted and chicken wired fenced off. Adding a chicken wire fence to the carrot patch and the peppers patch. The raspberry and blackberry bushes are covered in bridal netting so keep the bugs, birds, squirrels and bunnies away from the fruit.

The lavender is blooming and needs to be harvested and hung up to dry. ALL my plants survived and it is a bumper crop this year!

The Fairy - 7 Sisters Rose Bush

Back in the day, this was known as 7 sisters rose bush. Now it is called The Fairy. There is another bush growing to the right and together they span 12 feet! Mom and I are growing this bush in memory of her mother who had one when Mom was a little girl.

Dad's Memory Garden

This is the beginning of the memory garden for my Dad. A NAVY man until the day he died, I planted a true blue Larkspur and Snowdrops. To the right of the anchor is 1 plant a 'Blue Angels' Salvia. Blue Lobelia is in the foreground. The top of the wind chime is a Blue Angel (not the plane). To the left of this garden is the red rose bush 'Chrysler Imperial' and to the right is Dad's favorite Rose, 'Angel Face'. I hope to expand this garden in the coming years to highlight blue and yellow, the colors of NAVY.

Have a great weekend!
